What is BartPE and PE Builder?

Bart's PE Builder helps you build a "BartPE" (Bart Preinstalled Environment) bootable Windows CD-Rom or DVD from the original Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 installation/setup CD, very suitable for PC maintenance tasks.

It will give you a complete Win32 environment with network support, a graphical user interface (800x600) and FAT/NTFS/CDFS filesystem support. Very handy for burn-in testing systems with no OS, rescuing files to a network share, virus scan and so on.
This will replace any Dos bootdisk in no time!

Introduction

PE Builder is not a Microsoft product and does not create Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environment ("Windows PE"). Using PE Builder does not grant you a license to Microsoft Windows PE or to use the Windows XP or Server 2003 binaries in a manner other than stated in the End-User License Agreement included in your version of Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Server 2003. Microsoft has not reviewed or tested PE Builder and does not endorse its use.

Hi, my name is Bart Lagerweij. I've been creating DOS based boot disks and bootable CD-Roms from Dos 3.x (not sure what year) until 2002. I have created the: Corporate Modboot, Network bootdisk, CD-Rom bootdisk, a hardware independent Dos CD-Rom driver eltorito.sys and lots of other tools needed to boot a PC the way I want it to.

As you can read above I've stopped doing that in 2002. Why? I saw a Windows PE (WinPE) bootable CD-Rom (from Microsoft) in action and I got very, very curious. I knew then as I know now, that in time PE-based solutions will be every PC technicians best friend.
Goodbye to all the good and bad dos-based NTFS utilities! Now we can boot from a CD-Rom and have full read/write access to NTFS volumes!

Here are a few things that are possible with PE and are not possible with any type of dos-based boot disk, even when using network support and ntfsdos:

* Accessing very large (>2TB) NTFS volumes or accessing volumes that are not seen by the BIOS, like some fibre channel disks.
* Very reliable scanning and cleaning of viruses on NTFS volumes using a "clean boot".
* Active Directory support.
* Have remote control over other machines, using vnc or remote desktop.


While I was already thinking about what great things this could do, I noticed the end-user license agreement for Microsoft software that is included with Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) 1.2 (eula.txt). In section "1. ELIGIBILITY." it states the following:
..."You may only install and use the SOFTWARE PRODUCT if you are an active Microsoft Software Assurance Member ("SAM") for the systems product pool or servers product pool, if you currently have license coverage for Microsoft Windows operating system (OS) Upgrades via a Campus Agreement or School Agreement, or if you are a current or former participant in the Windows XP Joint Development Program, Windows XP Rapid Adoption Program, Windows .NET Server Joint Development Program, or Windows .NET Server Rapid Adoption Program. If you do not meet one or more of the requirements listed above, you may not install or use this SOFTWARE PRODUCT and you must terminate the installation of this SOFTWARE PRODUCT immediately"...

Oops, that does not include me. As a matter a fact that does not include most of us! This was very disappointing. But then I started thinking, how difficult can it be to build something similar to Windows PE from a Windows XP installation CD-Rom? A quick file compare looked like most of the needed files are on the Windows XP CD-Rom. Only because I thought building this would be easy, I started coding my own builder program. Had I known how hard it would be, I would probably never have started programming PE Builder.
This first version (v1.0.0) of PE Builder was released on April 28, 2003. Yes, version 1 was a very simple, very static, very bad and copyright violating program. And the (very friendly) people at Microsoft had every right to kick my butt. But I learned from it and in May 2003 I started on a second version. In July (three months later) v2 was ready.
Version 2 did not have the problems that version 1 had. The version 2 build engine had its own registry hive builder which was not easy to program and took about 50% of my research and coding time. It also was dynamic enough that it could build from Windows XP and Server 2003. In v2.0.1 I added a small but very powerful menu program called nu2menu, which was written by my buddy Henk de Jong. The latest 2 version (v2.0.2b) even used a new ISO filesystem called "ISO-9660:1999 (version 2)" instead of the Joliet extensions. Some non-English versions of Windows XP had filenames longer than the maximum allowed length for Joliet filenames (103 chars). I had to patch the ISO building program (mkisofs.exe) so that the Windows NT bootstrap and setup loader would boot properly. The file and directory names can now be up to 207 characters. But again this version had something bad. When comparing some INF files they looked too much like the Windows PE builder from Microsoft.

I had to change the entire INF file layout to use its own format. And on Sep 1, 2003 (almost 6 months after starting) version 3 was ready. After adding plugin support, PE Builder got very popular. People from all over the world are writing their own plugins to add the program they like and use.

BartPE vs. Windows PE?

* BartPE is not supported by Microsoft. Windows PE is an official Microsoft product.
* BartPE has a graphical user interface. Windows PE has a command line interface.
* The tools needed to make a BartPE installation are free software. Windows PE is available only to Microsoft OEM users.
* BartPE allows unlimited custom plugins. Windows PE has a limited range of plugins options.

What is the technical difference between BartPE and Windows PE?

* Target - Microsoft sees Windows PE as an installation platform. Bart sees Windows PE as the next generation rescue platform.
* Start-menu - Bart's builder gives you a simple, dynamic and powerful start-menu (Nu2Menu, see screenshots). Microsoft's builder does not give you a start-menu, it uses a command prompt.
* Build from - Bart's builder can also build from Windows XP Home Edition or from a preinstalled Windows XP version (without CD).
* Plugins - With PE Builder you can easily add applications, drivers or tools using plugins. This makes PE Builder extremely powerful. The end user can even combine plugins from different software vendors into one CD image.
* Network support - PE Builder includes its own network support tools (bartpe/penetcfg) to start TCP/IP and Microsoft Client. The TCP/IP settings like: dynamic/static ip-address, subnet-mask, default gateway, dns-servers computer-name, workgroup can be changed on-the-fly. You can create pre-defined profiles, that you can select. Microsoft Windows PE only supports DHCP or fixed settings using winbom.ini.
Also there is a plugin (NwDskPe) created by Erwin Veermans that loads the Netware Client on BartPE (IP/IPX).
* Fileshare - BartPE can start File Sharing support so you can connect to the system through a share.
* VNC - Because of the File Sharing support you can also run UltraVNC.
* Dos support - Bart's builder has a plugin called "dospe".
* License - Microsoft Windows PE is only for Enterprise/OEM customers (see previous), BartPE is for everybody!
* 64-Bit - Bart's builder does not support Windows 64-bit editions.

Requirements to build:

1. The files from your Windows Installation CD-Rom.
Supported Windows versions are:
* Windows XP Home Edition (must be slip streamed with Service Pack 1 or higher)
* Windows XP Professional (must be slip streamed with Service Pack 1 or higher)
* Windows Server 2003, Web Edition
* Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition
* Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
2. PE Builder runs on Windows 2000/XP/2003/BartPE systems.
3. CD/DVD writer if you want to creat a bootable CD/DVD.

Why did I build PE Builder?

Microsoft only provides Windows PE to OEM and Enterprise customers. So the small companies and end users do not get Windows PE. I think this is really bad. With PE Builder they can build a Bootable XP CD-Rom (called BartPE) to use for maintaining their systems.

Getting started

This page will help you create your very first BartPE CD. It assumes that you are using Windows XP.

1. Make sure that your system has about 500MB of free disk space!

2. Download the latest PE Builder version (self-installing package) and install it.

3. Start PE Builder (pebuilder.exe). When you start PE Builder for the first time it will ask if you agree with the license agreement.

4. Now PE Builder will ask to search for windows installation files. If you don't have your windows XP setup/installation files on your system you must insert the original Microsoft Windows XP installation/setup CD at this point.
The files you have at c:\windows are not installation files. They are your already installed files!
Click "yes" to start searching. PE Builder will now search all fixed- and CD-Rom drives for Windows installation files. This will take some time. When more than one valid location is found, a dialog will appear where you can select which location you want to use.

5. At the main PE Builder dialog, select the "Burn to CD/DVD" option. When you are using an erasable medium, make sure that the "AutoErase RW" option is enabled. The "burn using" option should be set to "StarBurn". Select your CD writer device from the Device list.

6. Hit the "build" button. PE Builder will now ask you to create a BartPE directory, answer with "yes".

7. The license for your Microsoft Windows XP product is shown. Read it and agree to it to continue.

8. PE Builder will now start building BartPE. This will take a few minutes.
You will see a lot of files getting copied and/or decompressed, the ISO image build and the data recorded to your CD/DVD writer.
If the data verify was correct and there where no errors reported you can boot the CD/DVD!

Istilah internet sendiri sebenarnya merupakan singkatan dari interconnected networking yang berarti jaringan-jaringan komputer yang saling terhubung. Jadi internet adalah gabungan jaringan komputer di seluruh dunia yang membentuk suatu sistem jaringan informasi global.Di internet terdapat dua tipe komputer, yaitu komputer server (server computer) dan komputer client (client computer).

Informasi dan layanan yang ada di internet disediakan oleh komputer server, sedangkan komputer client hanya dapat mengakses informasi atau layanan di komputer server tersebut.Di internet,seseorang dimungkinkan untuk memalsukan identitasnya dalam berkomunikasi dengan pengguna internet lain. Banyak sekali korban kejahatan yang dilakukan melalui internet. Kejahatan melalui internet sering disebut sebagai cybercrime.

A.Sejarah Internet

Pembangunan internet diawali dengan di bangunnya jaringan ARPANET (ARPA = Advance Research Project Agency) pada tahun 1969.Di awal perkembangannya ,jaringan tersebut hanya digunakan khusus oleh kalangan akademik (pendidikan / universitas) dan militer.

Istilah internet sendiri muncul sekitar tahun 1983 dengan ditemukannya protokol TCP / IP (Transmission Control Protocol / internet Protocol) . Tekhnologi www atau sering disingkat web , memungkinkan pertukaran informasi multimedia (audio, visual, movie) melalui internet. Karena fasilitas dan kepraktisannya,maka Jumlah penggunanya pun semakin lama semakin bertambah.

B.Layanan di internet

1) WWW (World Wide Web), layanan ini meyediakan informasi yang dapat diakses dan ditampilkan secara langsung di komputer client dengan menggunakan protokol HTTP.

2) FTP (File Transfer Protocol), sesuai namanya layanan ini memang digunakan untuk transfer file dari satu komputer ke komputer lain dengan internet dengan komsep client server.

3) Email (electronic mail), fasilitas ini digunakan untuk komunikasi antar pengguna internet melalui surat elektronik, yaitu surat dalam bentuk file yang bisa dibuka / dibaca di komputer.

4) Milist (Mailing List), merupakan sebuah alamat e-mail yang di dalamnya berisi kumpulan beberapa e-mail anggotanya.

5) Telnet, digunakan untuk mengakses data di komputer lain di internet dan menjalankan program – program di dalamnya.

6) Gopher,merupakan layanan internet berbasis teks yang dikembangkan di University of Minnesota.Layanan ini sudah digantikan oleh layanan www.

7) IRC(Internet Relay Chat), layanan ini hampir sama dengan newsgroup, tetapitidak dikhususkan pada topik tertentu.

8) VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), telepon internet, merupakan layananuntuk menelpon lewat internet.

C.Bagaimana Komputer Dapat Saling Terkoneksi dengan Komputer di Seluruh Dunia?

Untuk dapat saling terkoneksi dengan komputer di seluruh dunia dalam jaringan internet diperlukan beberapa hal berikut:

1)Perangkat keras

2)Perangkat lunak

3)Protokol (TCP / IP)

4)Saluran telekomunikasi

5)Sambungan ke ISP (Internet Service Provider) atau penyedia layanan internet.

Untuk dapat mengakses internet,kita dapat menghubungkan komputer kita ke jaringan komputer yang sudah terkoneksi dengan internet. Untuk pemakaian sendiri (single) kita dapat menggunakan modem dan saluran telekomunikasi yang ada (misalnya saluran telepon), serta mendaftar ke ISP untuk mendapatkan akses internet.

Intranet

Intranet merupakan jaringan sistem informasi internal suatu perusahaan atau organisasi yang prinsip kerjanya sama dengan internet. Teknologi dan konsep internet seperti client-server dan protokol internet seperti HTTP dan FTP juga digunakan untuk membangun sebuah intranet.

Akses intranet memerlukan identifikasi pengguna dan pasword sehingga hanya dapat diakses oleh anggota anggota organisasi atau karyawan perusahaan tersebut.

Perbedaan antara internet dengan intranet yaitu intranet dapat mengakses internet sedangkan internet tak dapat mengakses intranet.
Keuntungan Penggunaan Intranet

1) Produktifitas Kerja : Intranet membantu pengguna untuk menemukan informasi secara cepat,mengakses database yang diperlukan dan menggunakan aplikasi yang sesuai dengan pekerjaan dan tanggung jawabnya.

2) Efisiensi Waktu : Dengan intranet,perusahaan dapat memberikan informasi yang lebih lengkap kepada para anggota/karyawan di mana anggota/karyawan dapat mengakses informasi sesuai sekaligus.

3) Komunikasi : Intranet memberikan fasilitas yang memungkinkan komunikasi efektif di dalam sebuah organisasi,baik secara vertikal maupun horizontal.

4) Sistem publikasi web : memungkinkan data - data organisasi / perusahaan diakses secara mudah, misalnya pedoman anggota / karyawan,datakeuntungan, kebijakan perusahaan, dan data pelatihan.

5) Efektifitas Biaya : pengguna dapat melihat atau membaca data melalui web browser tidak perlu membaca data fisik seperti buku manual, lembaran daftarpermintaan, danlembaran daftar telepon.

6) Keseragaman Informasi : intranet menjamin keseragaman informasi yangditerima.

7) Meningkatkan Kerjasama :dengan informasi yang mudah di akses oleh semuapengguna resmi (internal), kualitas kerja tim (team work) akan meningkat.

Kelemahan Penggunaan Intranet

1) Informasi yang salah dapat juga beredar melalui intranet sehingga mengurangi efektivitasnya.

2) Dalam perkembangan interaksi di intranet ada juga kemungkinan untuk mengirimkan hal-hal yang kurang sesuai (kasar / kurang sopan).

3) Diperlukan pelatihan (training) untuk mendidik anggota / karyawan untuk menggunakan intranet.

4) Diperlukan tenaga ahli untuk membangun dan mengembangkan intranet di sebuah organisasi perusahaan.

5) Pertimbangan keamanan data merupakan pemikiran utama karena pengguna bisa saja mengirimkan pesan yang sensitif yang dapat terlihat oleh yang bersangkutan.

6) Oleh karena bebasnya pengiriman pesan antarpengguna,dapat terjadi overload (data penuh) jika tidak dikontrol dengan baik.

Jaringan Komputer

Jaringan komputer adalah kumpulan dua atau lebih perangkat komputer yang saling terhubung dan memungkinkan terjadinya pemakaian bersama sumber daya dan komunikasi data secara langsung.Pemakaian sumber daya dikenal dengan istilah sharing,sedangkan sumber daya yang dipakai bersama dapat berupa hardisk, printer, scanner, maupun CD ROM drive.

Ada berbagai tipe jaringan berdasarkan beberapa kriteria tertentu. Jaringan dapat digolongkan berdasarkan metode distribusi data, hubungan fungsional, jangkauan wilayahnya, metode koneksinya, dan berdasarkan topologinya.

Penggolongan Jaringan Berdasarkan Metode Distribusi Data
a. Jaringan Terpusat (Host Based Network) terdiri atas beberapa komputer terminal yang terhubun ke komputer induk (host).Komputer induk berisi data dan aplikasi dan melaksanakan hampir semua pengolahan data.Terminal dalam jaringan terpusat dapat berupa dumb terminal (terminal bisu), yaitu terminal yang tak memiliki alat pemroses data.

Penggolongan Jaringan Berdasarkan Metode Distribusi Data

b. Jaringan terdistribusi, terdiri atas beberapa komputer induk yang terhubung dengan berbagai terminal. Jaringan terdistribusi secara fisik dapat dibentuk dari penggabungan jaringan terpusat.

Pengolongan Jaringan Berdasarkan Hubungan Fungsional Komputer Dalam Pemrosesan Data

a. Jaringan client-server terdiri atas sebuah server atau lebih yang terhubung dengan beberapa komputer client.

b. Jaringan peer to peer terdiri atas beberapa terminal yang saling terhubung . Prinsipnya adalah setiap komputer dalam jaringan dapat berfungsisebagai penyedia layanan(server) sekaligus client.

Penggolongan Jaringan Berdasarkan Jangkauan Wilayahnya

a. LAN (Local Area Network) atau jaringan lokal merupakan jaringan yang cakupannya relatif sempit, terbatas pada sebuah ruangan atau sebuah gedung dan sebuah kompleks.

b. MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) merupakan jaringan yang menghubungkan dua atau lebih LAN tetapi jangkauannya tidak melebihi wilayah kota atau metropolitan terdekat.

c. WAN (Wide Area Netwok) merupakan jaringan komunikasi data yang mencakup wilyah geografi yang luas

Penggolongan Jaringan Berdasarkan Metode Koneksinya

a. Jaringan Berkabel merupakan jaringan yang menggunakan kabel untuk menghubungkan anggota jaringan.Kabel yang biasa digunakan adalah kabelkoaksial,twisted pair yang meliputi kabel UTP dan kabel STP, serat optik (FO = fiber optic).

b. Jaringan Nirkabel merupakan jaringan yang menggunakan gelombang radio untuk koneksi antar anggota jaringan.Salah satu teknologi yang digunakan

adalah teknologi Wifi (Wireles fidelity).

Protokol Jaringan

Protokol jaringan merupakan aturan-aturan main yang mengatur komunikasi beberapa komputer dalam sebuah jaringan. Aturan tersebut meliputi cara mengakses jaringan, topologi fisik jaringan, tipe-tipe, dan kecepatan akses. NOKIA Tips & Trick

Tip 1: Do u know how to use the edit button (abc or pencil button)?
Heres how... in the inbox for example; u wanna delete multiple sms, simply hold the edit button, scroll down, and then, press c to delete the marked sms. The edit button can also be used to copy and past text in sms, simply hold it and scroll across, choose copy. Pretty good for placing song names in N-Gage.

Tip 2: Shit happens, on a smartphone, its inevitable u do something wrong, and this calls for a format of phone. To format the phone, press *#7370#, then enter the lock code, which is the security code of the phone. NOTE: battery must be full; else if format is disrupted by low battery, consequences will be disastrous.

I heard the code *#7780# works too, pretty much the same I think.

For 6600 users, to format the phone, there’s an alternative way. Press and hold <3>, <*> and Call (Send) buttons, then power on phone, keep holding on the 3 buttons, till u come to a format screen. This method ONLY works on 6600, and need not enter the sec code. BUT security code would be reset to default 12345.

Tip 3: TO NGAGE USERS: Did u know u can install .sis files simply using the cable given? Just plug it in, place the .sis file anywhere on E: (the MMC), not in any folders, root of E:, disconnect, then look for it in manager.

Tip 4: Save on battery and system memory being used by regularly checking the task manager which can be accessed by holding down the menu button!!

Tip 5: Type *#06# to display your IMEI serial number, very valuable for the unlocking your phone to other sim cards.

Tip 6: Type *#0000# to view which firmware version you are running.

Tip 7: If you would like to avoid being "blue jacked", keep bluetooth turned off, or set your phone's visibility to hidden.

Tip 8: Don't want to carry a watch and a phone? Set the screen saver to show date and time, then you can ditch the watch.

Tip 9: Save memory when installing apps, by installing over bluetooth. This can be done using the nokia phone suite and a bluetooth serial connection. Only works with .SIS files, so java still has to be sent to the phone, but will save space when using .SIS files.

Tip 10: Operator logosUse a filemanager like FExplorer or SeleQ to add the folders: "c:/system/Apps/phone/oplogo". Add a .bmp picture to folder "oplogo" and restart your phone! The .bmp picture size needs to be: 97 x 25 pixels.

Tip 12: BlueJackingFirst up, you need to know what Bluetooth is. There are lots of types of modern devices that incorporate Bluetooth as one of their many features. PDAs, mobile phones and laptops are a few of these modern devices. Bluetooth means that Bluetooth enabled devices can send things like phonebook/address book contacts, pictures & notes to other Bluetooth enabled devices wirelessly over a range of about 10 meters. So, we've got past the boring part. Now, using a phone with Bluetooth, you can create a phonebook contact and write a message, e.g. 'Hello, you've been bluejacked', in the 'Name' field. Then you can search for other phones with Bluetooth and send that phonebook contact to them. On their phone, a message will popup saying "'Hello, you've been bluejacked' has just been received by Bluetooth" or something along those lines. For most 'victims' they will have no idea as to how the message appeared on their phone.

Tip 13: While you are viewing a picture in your phone's gallery, press one of these shortcut keys (definitely works on 6600, not sure about other symbians)

3 - turn image clockwise
* - toggle on/off of full screen
5 - zoom in
0 - zoom out

Tip 14: You can select all files in a folder by selecting THE folder and copy it then paste it somewhere. However u needs to make a new directory. Fexplorer won’t let u copy that folder together. Well seleQ can mark files to copy but it really takes time!

Tip 15: A soft and Hard reset
A Soft-reset - the process of resetting all the settings of the phone to the factory default! No applications are deleted! A Hard-reset is like formatting a drive! It does format the memory. Everything that has been installed after the first use of the phone is deleted! It will recover the memory of the phone to the state you purchased it! It is done by inputting the following code: *#7370# NOTE: The battery must be full or the charger has to be connected to the phone so that it does not run out of power and make the phone unusable.

Tip 16: Formats of images

Tip 17: Press and hold the Menu key to open the application switching window, where you can switch between applications.

Tip 18: If a program hangs and you can't shut it down, select the application in theapplication switching window and press 'C' to kill it. It's also a faster way to exit programs.

Tip 19: Turn on/off the "click" sound made by the camera by selecting the 'Silent' profile or by turning warning tones on/off:

Tip 23: While writing text, press "#" to switch between upper and lower case and Dictionary on/off (predictive text input). Press and hold "#" to switch between Alpha mode and Number mode.

Menolak juga sama dengan anggota2 Fantastic 4 yang lain, karena belum juga mulai bekerja, dia udah mendapat panggilan dari kejagung karena dicurigai menjadi dalang terbakarnya beberapa pasar di indonesia.

6. THE FLASH (Barry Allen)
Sebenarnya Allen sudah mempertimbangkan untuk menerima proposal ini,tetapi setelah melakukan survey ke berbagai lembaga pemerintahan diaakhirnya menolak. Bayangkan aja, untuk mendapatkan tanda tangan KTP aja orang harus menunggu berhari-hari. itu aja masih sabar. jadi kesimpulan saya, orang indonesia tidak memerlukan seorang superhero yang memiliki kekuatan berupa kecepatan. kecepatan tidak ada artinya buat bangsa yang alon2asal kelakon.

7. SUPERMAN (Clark Kent)
Sang manusia baja ini menolak dengan sopan, karena dia takut disangkutkan dengan tuntutan melakukan aksi pornografi/pornoaksi, karena celana dalamnya dipake di luar, bukan seperti lazimnya.

8. AQUAMAN
Merasa tidak kuat setelah mencoba pekerjaan baru di Indonesia, karena LAUTNYA UDAH TERCEMAR LUMPUR LAPINDO

9. WONDER WOMAN
Pada mulanya, sang peace ambassador dari atlantea ini merasa yakin bisa membantu pemerintah Indonesia. Tetapi setelah pengamatan lebih lanjut,dia akhirnya menolak juga dengan alasan, “kalo saya mati di us dalam menunaikan tugas kan masih bergengsi, dibunuh monster / villain. Di indonesia bisa2 saya mati digrebek FPI gara2 kostum saya yang super seksi ini.

Menolak setelah ketakutan mendengar lagu KUCING GARONG.

11. JACK BAUER (Serial 24)
Jack Bauer juga nolakin proposal ini. Pasalnya biaya komunikasi internet di indonesia termahal di dunia. Jadi tiap kali dia mau hacking komputer musuh malah bingung ntar bayar tagihannya.

12. HULK (Bruce Banner)
Banner menolak karena jalan2 di indonesia terlalu sempit untuk ukuran tubuhnya. belum lagi kalo ngejar villain sampai ke gang2 perumahan, ntar kena portal, belum lagi dimintai duit cepe-an. mau ambil dari mana???? gw kan ga pake baju. belum lagi kalo nyebrang jalan, disorakin disangka si komo.

13. RAMBO (John Rambo)
Walaupun bukan super hero, tp dicoba juga oleh pemerintah RI. Tapi ditolak juga. Alasannya “gw paling jago kalo perang di dalam hutan. gimana mau perang di hutan???? kan hutan loe udah pada gundul”.

Akhirnya, pemerintah menawarkan proposal ke superhero lokal :
Gatotkaca, Gundala Putra Petir, Godam, dan Saras 008 (walaupun kabar terakhir Saras juga menolak karena cuma digaji Rp.0,000001/detik)

Apa itu Blog ???

BLOG adalah sebuah wahana yang dapat memperkenalkan kehidupan pribadi dan berbagi berbagai pengalaman seseorang pada seluruh dunia.

Blog adalah kependekan dari Weblog, sebuah istilah yang pertama kali digunakan oleh Jorn Barger pada bulan Desember 1997. Jorn Barger awalnya menggunakan istilah Weblog untuk menyebut kelompok website pribadi yang menceritakan kehidupan pribadinya dan berisi link-link ke website lain yang mereka anggap menarik, disertai dengan komentar-komentar pemilik blog dan juga pengunjungnya.

Blog yang pada mulanya merupakan “catatan perjalanan” seseorang di Internet atau “diary online” terus berkembang mencari suatu bentuk yang disesuaikan oleh para pembuatnya atau para Blogger.

Dan awalnya BLOG juga hanya fasilitator berbagai link website yang dirujuk oleh para pembua blog yang dianngap menarik dan patut dikunjungi. Lalu kemudian menjadi jauh lebih menarik daripada hanya sebuah daftar link. Hal ini disebabkan karena para Blogger biasanya juga tidak lupa memberikan komentar-komentar “cerdas” mereka, ataupun pendapat-pendapat pribadi dan bahkan mengekspresikan ide/pandangan mereka pada link yang mereka buat.

Dari komentar-komentar tadi biasanya Blog kemudian menjadi sebuah jendela yang memungkinkan para pengunjungnya “mengintip” atau “mengenali” isi kepala dan kehidupan pribadi sehari-hari dari penciptanya (blogger). Blog adalah suatu cara yang cara mudah untuk mengenal kepribadian seorang Blogger. Topik-topik apa yang dia sukai dan tidak dia sukai, apa yang dia pikirkan terhadap link-link yang dia pilih, apa tanggapannya pada suatu isu. Seluruhnya biasanya tergambar jelas dari Blog-nya. Karena itu Blog bersifat sangat personal.

Perkembangan lain dari Blog yaitu ketika kemudian Blog tidak lagi memuat link-link tapi hanya berupa tulisan tentang apa yang seorang Blogger pikirkan, rasakan, hingga apa yang dia lakukan sehari-hari. Blog kemudian juga menjadi Diary Online yang berada di Internet. Satu-satunya hal yang membedakan Blog dari Diary atau Jurnal yang biasa kita miliki adalah bahwa Blog dibuat untuk dibaca orang lain. Para Blogger dengan sengaja mendesain Blog-nya dan isinya untuk dinikmati orang lain.

Rebecca Blood pada Blog-nya Rebecca’s Pocket mengatakan bahwa para Blogger mulanya adalah mereka yang telah mengajarkan diri mereka sendiri HTML karena mereka menyenanginya, atau mereka yang setelah seharian bekerja di kantor dot.com mereka, dan kemudian menyisakan waktu luang beberapa jam setiap harinya untuk melakukan web surfing dan memasang hasilnya pada Blog mereka. Mereka adalah apa yang ia sebut orang-orang yang antusias pada web. “These were web enthusiast.” tulisnya. Evan Williams, pendiri Blogger.com berpendapat, “Mayoritas Blogger adalah anak-anak muda atau mahasiswa. Dan banyak diantara mereka yang menggunakannya untuk berkomunikasi dengan teman-temannya.”.

Setiap orang tentu saja dapat membuat Blog-nya masing-masing, tapi seperti yang dikatakan Evan, Blogger saat ini kebanyakan terdiri dari para penulis diary muda yang dinamis, offbeat dan punya opini untuk segala hal. Dalam kata lain mereka adalah generasi yang tidak takut berpendapat dan mengungkapkan pendapat mereka.

Lalu apa gunanya membuat Blog? Apa yang mungkin didapatkan oleh seorang Blogger dalam usaha mengurus Blognya? Rabecca Blood menulis bahwa setelah ia membuat Blog-nya ada dua efek samping yang terjadi yang tidak ia perkirakan sebelumnya. Pertama ia menemukan kembali minatnya semenjak ia mulai membuat Blog. Dan hal kedua yang lebih penting, ia mulai lebih menghargai cara pandangnya sendiri.

Ketika setiap harinya ia mengupdate Blog-nya ia mulai mempertimbangkan opini dan ide-idenya dengan lebih hati-hati dan ia mulai merasakan bahwa perspektifnya adalah unik dan penting untuk disuarakan.

Ketika seorang blogger menuliskan apa yang ada di pikirannya, maka ia akan sering berkonfrontasi dengan pikiran-pikiran dan opininya sendiri. Menulis Blog, atau Blogging, setiap hari akan membuat Blogger menjadi penulis yang lebih percaya diri. Dengan terbiasa mengekspresikan pikirannya pada Blog-nya, seorang Blogger dapat dengan lebih baik mengartikulasikan opininya. Blog bahkan dapat menjadi semacam terapi jiwa.

Tentu saja tidak semua orang adalah seorang Natural-Born Blogger dan dapat memproduksi Blog yang menarik. Di luar sana ada banyak Blogger yang merasa perlu mendokumentasikan diri setiap kali ia bersin, atau anak-anak muda yang menuliskan “Saya bosan” atau “School Sucks!” setiap tiga jam sekali. Amy Jo Kim seorang konsultan dan pengarang buku “Community Building on the Web: Secret Strategies for Succesful Online Communities”, menulis bahwa diperlukan beberapa syarat dasar khusus untuk menjadi seorang Blogger, yaitu kemampuan untuk mengekspresikan diri, keinginan untuk berkomunikasi dengan orang banyak dan minat pribadi pada “keterusterangan”.

Blog dengan caranya sendiri sepertinya membuat hidup, pikiran, opini dan kegiatan Bloggernya lebih mempunyai tujuan dan lebih teratur.
